Kaushik’s primary research interests include Applications of Decision Support Systems (DSS), Benefits of Online Social Interaction, Management of Virtual Teams, Role of Information Technology in Online Learning, and Management of Supply Chains.
His dissertation investigates the factors that impact collaboration of groups that use Group Support Systems (GSS). The title of his dissertation is, “Idea Generation Using Brainwriting: The Role of Process Losses in Electronic and Manual Gallery Writing Meetings”. In brief, the study examines the impact of process losses, mainly free-riding on productivity of groups that use brainwriting technique to share and generate ideas during group meetings. The study has the potential to add to the understanding of how and under what conditions free-riding, a major source of loss in performance of groups using GSS can be limited.
